Good morning everyone! I'm Poppy, and I am your language mentor from Primary School. Today, we’re gonna learn some new things! Common English proverbs and see how we can use them in our daily chats. Let’s get started!”

The first saying is ‘Actions speak louder than words’. This means that what you do is more important than what you say.

So, imagine Jack says he’s gonna help your best friend with a group project, but then he doesn’t do anything. Meanwhile, you see your friend struggling with his homework and you step in to help him out. In the end, your friend is really grateful to you. That’s a perfect example of ‘actions speak louder than words’.

The second saying I wanna share with you is ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’. This means you shouldn’t judge things or people just by how they look. Take myself as an example, I might look like a nice person, but trust me, I can be pretty strict. Seriously though, think about that little restaurant down the street. It might look small and unimpressive, but the food could be amazing!

OK everyone,so far so good? And now we gonna have our last one.‘Every cloud has a silver lining’? It means that even when something bad happens, there’s always something good that can come from it. For example, imagine you lose your favorite toy and you’re really sad about it. But then, while you’re looking for it, you find an old toy you forgot about and start having fun with it again. See? Every cloud has a silver lining!”

That’s it for today’s class. Anyway, good job every one! Try to Remember these proverbs in your daily conversations. I will see you in the next class!
