Hey there, I’m John, and I’m here at the Historical Wonders Museum to give you a quick peek into one of the most game-changing periods in history, the American Revolution.
In the late eighteenth century, the people living in the American colonies, which were under British rule, began to feel frustrated. They were being taxed by the British government without having a say in decisions that affected them. This unfair treatment led to growing anger and eventually, the start of the American Revolution in 1775.
The revolution was a fight for independence, and it lasted for several years. The colonists were determined to create their own government. With help from France, they managed to defeat the British in 1781. The war ended officially in 1783 when the British signed a peace treaty, recognizing the United States as an independent country.
The American Revolution wasn't just about one country's freedom. It also inspired people around the world to fight for their own rights and equality.
